The “Internet Detective” resource explained what to look for when determining the quality and validity of an internet resource. This tutorial explained some of the issues with quality on the internet and why it is important to be discriminating when using the internet. It further explained how a URL works and how it can be used to help determine the type of source that you are looking at. I learned that the content of the page can help me to decide if the page contains high quality information. This can be determined by critically looking at the authors, editors, and accuracy of the page. I also learned that the design of the site can help me to determine its usefulness according to my purposes for viewing the site.
